I understand that we as Americans are infatuated with the wealthy and the famous, but how far do we really take this? History is being made as we sleep and all we worry about is what rapper was a cop, how miley cyrus is a bad influence, who has beef with who,what kanye west is wearing, angliena jolie and her tribe of kids...its all gone over board now. I bet an average person couldnt even tell you what month the election is or what is the capital of their state. Its a shame and its only going to get worse. Dont get me wrong, i do watch the shows about pop culture and i do read the magizines, but i also know whats going on in the world around me and how it affects me.

SMH at me also for playing into most of this, but i also need to say something about Hip Hop artists. They are not only out there promoting themselves but they are getting together to inform their fans about the elections and what is going on around us, at least these people who society shames for cursing and "corpting the youth" is trying to make a change and voicing important opinions. At least they get the generation involved with the world around them. They arent out there promothing drinking in bars, having little dogs to carry in your purse, taking naked pictures for "your boyfriend", getting plastic surgery, and all the other crazyness that rehabers are up to.

Read a book, turn on the news HAVE AN OPINION, then go watch the stupidness these celebrities do and try to be better than them, not imitate them
